Today’s basket trail - a sudden plan to hike 유명산.

오늘의 바스켓 트레일 – 갑자기 떠난 유명산 등산.
 
Lately, I’ve been feeling a bit off. Not exactly sick, but more like stuck in a loop —

craving something new, maybe a change of scenery or a simple shift in rhythm.
So I searched for a nearby trail that’s short and easy to moderate trail,

and came across Yumyeongsan in Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi-do.
And of course —

who else would I rope into my spontaneous hiking mood?

My husband.

 

요즘 좀 처지는 기분이었어요. 아프진 않은데, 뭔가 지루하고, 새로운 풍경이나 활동이 필요하달까?
그래서 가까운 쉬운~보통 난이도의 등산 코스를 검색하다가, 경기도 양평에 있는 유명산을 찾았어요.
그럼 이 갑작스러운 등산 욕구에 끌려갈 사람은? 당연히 남편이죠.
 

 

     

        Beautiful view along the way.

The misty morning and fog-covered mountains felt like something out of a dream.

 

가는 길에 만난 아름다운 풍경.
안개 낀 아침과 뿌연 산들이 꿈처럼 느껴졌어요.

 

 

Even the parking lot was wrapped in mist.
The air was incredibly fresh!

 

주차장도 안개로 가득했어요.
공기가 정말 상쾌했어요!

 

We walked about 10 minutes from the parking lot to this cute little bridge.
This is where the hiking trail begins.

주차장에서 이 아기자기한 다리까지 10분 정도 걸었어요.
여기가 등산로 입구예요.

 

 

Just listening to the sound and watching the water — I was healed.

계곡 소리 듣고 물 흐르는 걸 보기만 해도, 벌써 힐링이 됐어요.

 

And here we go.
It starts with a gentle uphill slope — totally doable, even for beginners (like me, haha).

자, 이제 시작이에요.
처음은 완만한 오르막길이라 초보자(저처럼요, 하하)도 충분히 할 수 있어요.

 

  It really is a beautiful morning.
The scent of the forest hits differently.

정말 아름다운 아침이에요.
숲 향기가 뭔가 다르게 느껴져요.

 

 

I thanked the trees for sending their roots deep into the ground.
It's just so beautiful to see.

 

뿌리를 내리고 땅을 잡아준 나무들에게 고마운 마음이 들었어요.
그 모습이 정말 아름다웠어요.

 

 

       

I was a bit taken aback by this sight.
Luckily, it was short and easy.

 

이 모습을 보고 조금 놀랐어요.
다행히 짧고 쉬운 구간이었어요.

 

 

Where and when can you find a view like this?
Only in the mountains, early in the morning.

I wished I could just sit here and wait for the fog to lift.
Some hikers don’t like forest trails because they say there’s nothing to see.
But there’s so much green here — you rarely find this in the city.
Then again, I’m not someone who’s into skyscrapers and all that.

 

이런 풍경을 언제 어디서 볼 수 있을까요?
오직 산속, 이른 아침에만 만날 수 있어요.

그냥 여기 앉아서 안개가 걷히길 기다리고 싶었어요.
어떤 등산객들은 숲길을 좋아하지 않죠, 볼 게 없다고 하면서요.
하지만 여기엔 푸른 나무들이 가득해요 — 도심에선 좀처럼 볼 수 없는 모습이죠.
저는 사실 고층 빌딩 같은 데에는 별로 관심이 없거든요.

 

 

  It didn’t take long at all.
We reached the summit.

생각보다 오래 걸리지 않았어요.
드디어 정상에 도착했어요.

 

 

Heading down now.
Still foggy, still beautiful.

이제 내려가는 길이에요.
여전히 안개가 가득하지만, 여전히 아름다워요.

 

 

   

And we even saw a squirrel!

That was the end of the hike.

It was a good hike until...

 

그리고 다람쥐도 만났어요!

이게 등산의 끝이었어요.

좋은 등산이었는데...

 

I realized my card holder was missing from my crossbody bag...

I was sure I dropped it while taking pictures along the way.

So, we asked the gatekeeper to call us if anyone found it.

We went home and canceled some of my cards.

Then, I started retracing the places we visited before and after the hike.

There was one place I forgot to check —

a restaurant just 15 minutes from the trail ㅠㅠ.

Before the hike, we had eaten there.

My husband called the restaurant, and guess what?

The owner found my card holder under the table!

 

크로스백에서 카드 지갑이 없어진 걸 알게 됐어요...

사진 찍다가 떨어뜨린 것 같아 확신했죠. 그래서 관리인에게 누가 발견하면 연락 달라고 부탁했어요.

집에 돌아와서 카드 몇 장을 바로 정지시켰고, 등산 전후로 방문한 곳을 하나하나 되짚어보았어요.

그런데 한 곳을 깜빡했더라고요 — 등산로에서 차로 15분 거리의 식당 ㅠㅠㅠㅠ.

등산 전에 거기서 밥을 먹었는데, 남편이 식당에 전화해보니 주인이 테이블 아래에서 제 카드 지갑을 발견했다고 했어요!

We returned to Yangpyeong after two days since it was the weekend.

주말이라 이틀 후에 다시 양평에 다녀왔어요.

 

I thought I just needed a change of scenery and

to ease my boredom.
But I got much more than that!
Definitely a day I won’t forget.

단순히 기분 전환하고 심심함을 달래고 싶었는데,
생각보다 훨씬 많은 것을 얻었네요!
절대 잊지 못할 하루였어요.
